Mr. Curtis Knight – CEO
Mr. Curtis Knight is career banker, bringing over 20 years of experience in the banking industry, with a career spanning multiple areas of the international financial services sector. Throughout his professional journey, he has held several senior leadership positions across the Caribbean.
He began his career as a Relationship Manager at Citicorp Merchant Bank (Barbados) Limited and later served as Senior Client Relationship Manager at Scotiabank Barbados. He went on to hold the position of Head of Corporate & Commercial Banking at Scotiabank Turks & Caicos before being appointed Managing Director & Country Head for Scotiabank Turks & Caicos in August 2018.
From September 2020 to November 2023, Mr. Knight served as Head of Retail & Commercial Banking at First Citizens Bank (Barbados), where he was responsible for revenue generation and overall performance across retail, commercial, corporate, and electronic banking portfolios. In December 2023, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Capita Financial Services, where he leads the organization’s strategic direction and continued growth.
An accomplished and strategic leader, Mr. Knight has built a strong regional network, having lived and worked in several Caribbean territories. He also completed a Leadership Rotation at Scotiabank in Toronto, spending one year in Corporate Credit Risk Management adjudicating credit requests across diverse industries in Latin America, the Eastern Caribbean, and Guyana.
Mr. Knight holds a BSc in Economics (Hons) from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill; a Diploma in Banking & Finance from Boston University; and an MSc in Financial Analysis & Fund Management from the University of Exeter. He is a recipient of the Barbados National Development Scholarship and the Caribbean Regional Intern Scholarship sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and soccer.
