Introduction

Financial Investment and Consultancy Services Limited (FICS) is a family owned non-banking financial institution that was founded by Hon. George Theophilus, SLC, CBE, FIBA, who served as Deputy Managing Director of the East Caribbean Currency Authority (ECCA) in St Kitts from 1975 to 1981, Managing Director/Chairman of St Lucia Development Bank from 1981 to 1991, and Chairman/Director of the National Commercial Bank of Saint Lucia (currently known as Bank of Saint Lucia) from 1981 to 1991. FICS was incorporated in November 1991 and opened its doors to the public on February 24, 1992.

Wendy Theophilus – Managing Director

I have been working at my family owned financial institution, Financial Investment and Consultancy Services Limited from July 2003 to present and currently my main responsibility is to manage the day-to-day operations and affairs of the company. I am single and I dwell with my father, George Theophilus, who is a retired economist and banker, in Bonne Terre, Gros Islet. I have one brother, Lorne, whose profession is a Senior Solicitor and Chairman of this entity.

I am a graduate of the St Joseph’s Convent School and the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College where I attained a Diploma in Secretarial Studies in 1988. I worked at the College from 1988 to 1995 as a Secretary in various departments. From 1995 to 1998, I successfully completed a Bachelor of Office Management Degree at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, Canada. I returned to Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and served in two capacities as the Administrative Assistant in the Students Records Department of the Registrar’s Office and Administrative Assistant (Personnel) for three years. In 2001, I left the College and worked with the Project Manager at Office of Private Sector Relations in the Office of the Prime Minister for a period of two years. In 2003, I joined the family business and served in different capacities until May 2015, I attained the position of Managing Director at Financial Investment and Consultancy Services Limited. During my tenure at this reputable institution, I have pursued over twenty (20) courses in the areas of banking and insurance at the Canadian Securities Institute to keep abreast with the latest regulatory and compliance requirements in the financial sector. In addition, I am now a Certified Total Leader with the Leadership Management International Inc in Waco, Texas, USA. To achieve this world class certificate, I pursued courses in Effective Personal Leadership, Motivational Leadership, Strategic Leadership, Leadership Development, Personal Productivity and Selling Strategies.

My extra-curricular activities include exercising frequently at the gym, shopping and reading different articles of interest.

Venetia Salton – Branch Manager

Venetia Salton is a widow, mother of three boys and grandmother of three children.

She is a qualified and experienced Banker having worked in the financial sector for the past 36 years. She started her career at an early age and her first employment was at the St. Lucia Co-operative Bank now 1st National Bank. She later moved to the Bank of St. Lucia for 24 years and held various managerial positions at that Institution. She retired from the Bank of St. Lucia in 2007. She subsequently took up employment at Microfinance (MICROFIN) St. Lucia Ltd and worked there for 5 years in the capacity of Managing Director. She is currently employed at Financial Investment and Consultancy Services (FICS) Ltd for the past 6 years in the capacity of Branch Manager of the Rodney Bay Branch.

Ms. Salton holds accreditation: Cambridge University International Examinations – Management, American Bankers Association-Consumer Credit, American Bankers Association – Marketing for Bankers, University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago -Business Management Studies.

Anysia S. Z. Charles – Senior Marketing Officer – Loans

Anysia Charles started her banking career in March 1982 with Royal Bank of Canada. During her tenor which spanned over 30 years at RBC, she held various positions with the last being Senior Account Manager. Anysia retired from RBC in October 2014. Thereafter in January 2015 she joined the firm of Financial Investment and Consultancy Ltd FICS as Loans Officer and later took up the position of Senior Marketing Officer – Loans.

Anysia’s vast knowledge, experience and skills in the delivery of sound financial advice has produced many success stories in assisting persons in fulfilling their financial goals. Her aim is to educate and motivate young persons in order to empower them with the knowledge and capacity to make good financial decisions.
